5-Way Switch, Volume and Tone
This wiring was originally used in the Burman GD01, loaded with Bare Knuckle pickups. It will work with any humbucker-single coil setup with 500 or 550K pots.
The problem with mixing humbucker and single coil pickups is that humbuckers work best with 500K pots, but single coils sound better with 250K. A single coil wired with 500K pots will sound overly bright, and a humbucker with 250K will have too much treble rolled off.
Adding a 470K resistor to the single coil compensates for this by reducing the value of the pot to make the single coil sound like it should.
